The whole area is geologically fascinating. We are situated between Beinn Ghoblach and Sail Mhor mountains. Both are a fine climb and the views from the summits are spectacular.

Famous Inverewe Gardens are located just 17 miles away in Poolewe.

Among the many restaurants to be found in this area is our favourite local - Maggie’s Tearoom - less than 5 miles away. There you can enjoy delicious home cooking.

Another local enterprise is a delightful art gallery and craft shop - “Stepping Stones” at Corriehallie, beside An Teallach.

In Ullapool there are shops, a leisure centre, a pharmacy, a health centre, a museum and a golf course. From here you can take the Macbrayne ferry to the Outer Isles
